POSITION SUMMARY

 

Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Program Support Specialist is responsible for program support duties within the Social Services Department.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides support and assistance to the Program Coordinators and the Program Manager.
  • Maintains the EasyTrak computer-based client tracking system.
  • Provides technical support and training to staff for the EasyTrak software.
  • Provides clerical assistance as needed for managers and supervisors.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Develops and maintains a working relationship with the local office staff.
  • Acts as a conduit for communicating program requirements to the division staff.
  • Prepares reports and other required documents for Social Services.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Maintains knowledge of program guidelines and regulations to insure proper delivery of program services.
  • Performs any other work that may be required to deliver Social Services programs to achieve agency goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping of their work area.
  • Performs similar job-related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum
    • High school diploma or GED
    • At least two years professional experience
    • Valid Driver’s License
  • Preferred
    • Associates degree or higher in relevant area of expertise
    • Working knowledge of EasyTrak program

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check, driving history check, and submit to an initial physical drug screening and annual Tuberculin test.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing).
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to prepare program applications, including budget reports.
  • Ability to stay focused in fast paced environment with high volume of clients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and maintain positive working relationships.

 

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

This job operates in a clean, organized, and professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; lift up to 30 pounds; and reach with hands and arms.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director.

Occasional local travel may be required for training / job requirement purposes.
